The use of sound

Using sound as the conditioned stimulus is a good way to illustrate stimulus generalisation. As the chart below illustrates, if your conditioned response sound was set at the frequency of 1200Hz, the probability of response would be greatest at that frequency, but that there was a level of generalisation either side of 1200Hz.
